Remembering the day of Ghadeer
The Sunday school arranged a get-together to commemorate the blessed occasion Eid Ghadeer at the center on Aug 1st ’21.
A speech by Aliza Fatima Hasnain, Age 14
Assalamwalaykum and Eid Mubarak everyone. My name is Aliza and I am going to talk to you about the event of Ghadeer.
Eid e Ghadeer. It was the last year of The Holy Prophet (pbuh)’s life. It was the 18th day of the Holy month of Zilhaj. The Prophet (pbuh) with over 120,000 Muslims were returning from Mecca after performing Hajj. They arrived at Ghadeer e Khum. Then suddenly, The Holy Prophet received a message from Allah through the Angel Jibrael, which he immediately conveyed to the Muslims.
“Oh our Messenger! Deliver what has been sent down onto you from your Lord. And if you don’t then you have not delivered his message and surely Allah will protect you from men.” Then the Prophet led the Zuhr and Asr prayers in the hot summer sun, with everyone praying behind him.
After the prayers, The Holy Prophet (pbuh) gave a sermon in which he said,
“I am leaving among you two most important things to be obeyed. My Quran and The Ahlul Bayt. They will not separate from each other until they reach me at the fountain of Kausar.” Then he called Ali (as) up, he held both his hands so high that all the men and women saw him clearly.
He then said, “Manquntum maula fa haza Ali un maula. For whoever I am his master, Ali is his master.” The Prophet raised his hands in prayer, “Oh Allah! Be a friend to Ali’s friend, and an enemy to Ali’s enemies. Help those who help him, and betray those who betray him.”
He then said the ayat,
“On this day I have perfected for you your religion, and I have completed my favor for you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.”- 5:3
The Prophet then did Sajdah e Shukar to thank Allah. Then a tent was put up for Imam Ali (as), where people came to congratulate him as Ameer ul Momeneen, The Commander of the Faithful. Everyone came to give their hands in Bayat and promised to obey him as their Maula.
The day was declared as Eid e Ghadeer. Therefore we must celebrate this Eid as our biggest Eid, because as Imam Jafar e Sadiq (as) said,
“I swear by Allah, there is no day more important than Eid e Ghadeer in all of Kainaat (universe).”
Our 6th Imam also said, “I swear by Allah, those who celebrate Eid e Ghadeer, Allah gives them infinite blessings.”
Salawat.
MashAllah. So nice to see our kids doing so great. Hats off to the team
